MPM... Happy Chocolate Chip Day!

Today is National Chocolate Chip Day, I figured we needed to celebrate. Mainly because it involved eating chocolate. I made the kids Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip for their after school snack. The kids were even brave and tried the dip with apples. Needless to say they preferred eating the dip with graham crackers.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip

1/2 cup butter (I used light margarine)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1- 1 1/4 cup flour
1-3 tbs water (depending on how "dippy" like you want it)

French Toast.... In a Cup!!!

With a title like that all I can think about is the movie Wall-E!

This is a perfect way to get a weekend breakfast quickly during the week. In less then 5 minutes you can have French Toast during the week. I was talking to some other family members about this recipe and we were talking about all the different things you could add in. Like raisins, nuts, fruit, or replace milk with yogurt. The options are endless... so how do you like your french toast?

Happy May Day!!!

It is the small holiday traditions that I will always remember from my childhood. Every "May Day" my mom would help us make the same carmel corn filled, twizzler handled baskets to deliver to friends and family. Now that I have my own kids, I have continued the tradition with them. It is these small things that I love to do with them.

This year though I learned that the original tradition behind "May Day Baskets" was that you rang on the recipients door and then ran. The recipient would then chase after you in hopes of catching and kissing you. I can safely say that I have never taken part in this tradition, but I am thinking of trying to get my kids to do it next year.
